Acceptable Use Policy
This policy sets out how the Local Toolworks tools may and may not be used. The short version: use them lawfully, for your own data, and don't try to abuse or misrepresent them.
Lawful use
You must not use the tools to process unlawful content — for example, material whose possession or processing is illegal where you are — or in any way that violates applicable law. You are responsible for the files and text you process.
Your content stays yours
Processing is browser-local: the tools never upload, store, or transmit your content. You keep full control of your data, and results are downloaded directly to your own device.
No abuse of processing limits
Do not attempt to circumvent each tool's documented limits, to automate processing in ways that degrade the experience for others, or to probe for weaknesses. The tools are static pages; there is no server to overload, but keep usage reasonable.
No misrepresentation
Do not present tool output as the product of another service, and do not remove or misrepresent metadata or transformation history in ways that could mislead others about a document's origin. If you publish processed results, be accurate about what the tools do.
Changes and enforcement
This policy may be updated as the site evolves. Because the tools are static and store nothing, enforcement is limited to what the tools can do — but unlawful use may be reported to the relevant authorities, and the site may add technical safeguards as needed.
